WESTERN ESPLANADE

Two photographs taken almost at the same spot, but at about 25 years difference in time. A quarter of a century later the only significant changes are the growth of bushes and shrubs, and the replacement of the gas lamps by electric light standards. The year is 1912, the clue being provided by work proceeding on the erection of the Peace Statue, unveiled in October of that year
